Brian Coughlin, CPA, MST

Brian has been managing partner of the Oak Brook office since 2007. He specializes in strategic business development and consulting to help our client’s maximize efficiency of their financial resources. He works with clients in many industries, including construction, real estate, manufacturing, and service businesses.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his MST from DePaul University. Brian is on the Brother Rice High School Board of Directors and Chair of the Finance Committee.  He is a member of the Chicago Tax Club.

Tim TeBockhorst, CPA, MST

Tim is the head of our Tax Services and Business Development departments for our Oak Brook location. He’s been working in the field of accounting for over 38 years and we’re proud to say he’s been with us since 1973. Prior to working for Gray Hunter Stenn LLP, Tim also worked as an inspector for the Internal Revenue Service.

Tim received his BS in Accounting from Truman State University and completed his MST at DePaul University. He has also served as Presidents of the River Forest Country Club and the DeKalb County Estate Planning Council.

Tim specializes in complex entity planning, estate planning, and asset protection transactions and strategies. His expertise lies in the construction, agriculture, service, and real estate industries.

James G. Stewart, CPA, MST

Jamie heads up the audit and accounting practice. He specializes in service industries, manufacturing, and employee benefit plans. He started with Gray Hunter Stenn in 1991 and became a partner in 2001. He has over 20 years of public accounting experience. He received his bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University in 1988 and MST from DePaul University in 1996.

 

Michael Peckham, CPA

Mike is in charge of our Information Technology department and has extensive experience as a business advisor for construction companies, service companies and numerous other industries. His experience includes serving as facilitator of strategic planning sessions, tax planning and consulting, conducting profitability enhancement reviews, merger and acquisition planning, designing incentive compensation plans, and a wide range of business consulting. Mike also heads our Information Technology projects for both the firm and many of the firm’s clients.

Mike started with the firm in 1999 and most recently became partner in 2007. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University.

Consultants

Charles M. Arbetter, CPA, MBA, JD

Chuck works with the firm in a consulting capacity and prior to that he was a partner for almost 20 years. He received his Bachelor’s degree from DePaul University in 1958, his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1964, and his JD from John Marshall Law School in 1972.

Chuck specializes in litigation support and consulting services, as well as most areas of tax and accounting. His focus is towards clients who have an entrepreneurial element within their structure. He is currently a licensed CPA and is also currently a member of the Chicago Bar Association and American Bar Association.

Tony DePaul, CPA

Tony originally started with the firm back in 1988 and now works closely with us as a consultant. He is currently a licensed CPA and has a strong background in Estate, Trust, and Bankruptcy taxation issues. He also specializes in the financial services and real estate industries. Tony received his degree in Accountancy and Finance from Northern Illinois University in 1986.
